Our pets deserve the best diagnostic imaging services available. With that goal, Pet Animal Ultrasound Services, llc
(PAUS) is proud to be able to offer the convenience of mobile cardiac and abdominal ultrasound exams at veterinary hospitals.
The studies are performed by nationally registered diagnostic medical sonographers (RDMS), who are the highly trained
individuals performing the ultrasound exams on human patients (including sick newborns) at human hospitals. In addition
to this advanced level of training, the sonographers receive additional experience with animals from both board certified
veterinary radiologists and cardiologists.
PAUS provides state of the art equipment for all examinations to ensure
the highest quality. The digital ultrasound images, as well as digital pictures of radiographs, high quality digital
ECG acquisition or copy of your ECG, together with pertinent blood results and history are transmitted to a board certified
radiologist or cardiologist, as required for interpretation. Finalized reports and treatment recommendations are faxed within
24 hrs of image acquisition.
This arrangement is used in human hospitals where an ultrasound technologist
performs the examination and presents it to the cardiologist or radiologist for final diagnosis. Using this process in veterinary
medicine allows us to offer clients a convenient and affordable, high-quality service. PAUS employees combine their ultrasound
skills with their love and respect for animals to help in their care and management.
For the pet owner, not only do they have the convenience of having the testing performed at their local veterinary clinic,
but, in addition, PAUS provides educational materials for the pet owners: handouts describing the ultrasound examination and
brochures detailing their pet's disease.
The frequency of visits to your hospital for routine cases is established
at your convenience and necessity. In addition to this routine schedule, staff will be available to respond in between these
visits, to situations where ultrasound imaging is desired more quickly in order to assess a patient’s status.
It is our goal to fully utilize current technology and all of the benefits of ultrasound to give you a quick non-invasive
answer to expedite diagnosis and treatment of your patients.
Please call us to arrange a visit to your hospital. We look forward to meeting with you to discuss your
testing needs.
